Scarlett’s Tiny Tales
Once upon a time, there was a magical world with lots of things to explore. There was a little girl who loved exploring the magical world. After she walked for a while, she came across a lake and she didn’t know that it was a magical lake. A rainbow fairy came from a tree above her, the little girl was surprised to see the fairy flying in front of her.
The fairy said “Hello, my name is Alyssa. What is your name?”
The little girl said “my name is Sienna, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Hi Sienna. This lake is a magical lake because you can have three wishes from it.”
“Really! But why only three? I have so many more wishes” Sienna said.
Alyssa Laughed. “You can only have three wishes because three is a big number.”
“You’re right, three is bigger than zero after all. Okay, my first wish is that I wish I could fly. My second wish is that I wish I already knew how to speak in all the different languages. My third wish is that I wish I could talk to animals.”
Alyssa said “Those wishes are great! You can fly with me and you can see my house up in the tree.”
As Sienna was watching the lake water started to move up and down. It was so amazing to watch. The water was changing colours – the colours were blue, red, pink, yellow, aqua and there was a gold smiley face.
Sienna knew her wishes came true because she could fly and she could talk to animals. Sienna also wasn’t just speaking in English, she could talk in so many different languages like Spanish, Japanese and Italian. Sienna was so happy that her wishes came true.
Sienna and Alyssa became best friends. They loved to fly through the sky together and lived happily ever after.
The Sloth by Samira Pereira
Once upon a time there was a sloth named Lavender. She loved to learn about the world, where she lived and her culture.
Lavender was an amazing little girl. As a sloth, she was very, very different. She dressed differently to all the other sloths, and she was very unlike them. She wanted to know where the trees came from, how the world worked, where did the sun go to sleep or how many stars are there in the sky. She was a very nice and a happy sloth.
Lavender loved to play all sorts of games. Sloth and seek, get the tallest leaves, and eat all you can are some of her favourite games and things she loved to do.
Lavender also liked looking at the sunset and loved to do it with her family and friends.
One day, Lavender was playing in the forest, not too far from where she lived. It was close to where she liked to sit and watch the sunset with her family and friends. Lavender was having so much fun playing that she didn’t realise how much time went by or how far she went into the forest. She soon realised that she got lost. She felt a little scared and sad. She didn’t know what to do.
Suddenly, Lavender smelled her mum’s famous hot dog leaves. She smelled them again and again as she ran through the forest. She ran and ran all the way home.
The End.
Hudson Schipp – Write On
Once upon a time, there was a dog named Greg. Greg was a border collie who lived with his human mum and dad, his human big brother and his human little sister. Greg liked to chase balls, play with frisbees and go out for walks with his dad. He also loved his mum’s hot dogs and ate them whenever it was hot dog night, which was always on Tuesdays.
One day, Greg’s dad took him out for a walk. They were going to walk to the park, where Greg went every day to play fetch with a ball or a frisbee. They were walking past a street of houses when all of a sudden, another dog barked at Greg from behind a fence. This dog was big with shaggy black and brown fur, and its bark was loud like thunder.
Greg got really scared from the dog’s bark and when tried to run off, his leash broke. But he was so scared, he kept running and ended up in a huge forest. The forest seemed dark and spooky, with gigantic trees and insects making weird noises.
He went too far into the forest until he saw a bear sleeping. This bear was scary, he was big and black and had spikes all over his back. When he snored, Greg saw that he had ginormous, sharp teeth. Greg started barking, calling out for his dad, but then the bear woke up. It chased Greg because it was so mad that Greg woke it up from a fantastic dream with his barking.
Greg ran very fast and got away from the bear, but he was so lost and couldn’t find his dad.
As it turned out, the bear also got lost after chasing Greg. He came across a lake and caught a fish for his dinner. Then he curled up and went back to sleep.
Greg was safe from the bear, but he was still lost and he was scared, sad and alone.
All of a sudden, Greg smelled his mum’s great hot dogs because it was a Tuesday, and it was night time. Greg ran super fast because he was trying to find the smell and where it was coming from. And then he found his way home, and he felt so happy because he got to see his mum, his dad, his big brother and his little sister.
He spent the night eating hot dogs and cuddling with his family. And then he lived happily ever after.

At the Carnival
On a hot and sunny day I went to the local carnival. I saved lots of money to spend at the carnival. I didn’t take that long to get there because my house was nearby. First I went to the bowling game, after that I went to the game where you make a tower with cups and get a ball to throw at it. If you knock all the cups down, you get a prize.
There were so many games to play. Which one should I choose?
I started to feel really hungry so I ate cotton candy. It was delicious. While I was eating my cotton candy, I saw a farmer with his animals. I said “can I pat one of your animals?” and he said “yes”
I wanted to pat the newborn sheep, they were so fluffy. The little tiny sheep were a week old. I said to myself…I wish I could have a farm to live in so I can have my own baby sheep.
After the far animals, I noticed something that caught my eye. I saw people crowding around the toy stand because there was….THE MAGIC GOLDEN OWL TOY! It was special because it flies leaving a golden trail. I thought that a naughty boy took it, or a bird. But I remembered that the golden owl could leave a golden trail so I went to find the golden trail so when I spotted it I followed it. It led me to another toy stand. I thought that someone was playing a trick on me, I had to stop and think. I said “who would ever steal the golden owl?”
Maybe one of the farm animals took it?
I wasn’t looking where I was going and I knew I was lost!
I looked all around the fair. Suddenly I found the trail then I kept on following it. It led me to the robbers! It was one of the baby sheep that took the golden owl! That’s where it went! I was so confused…Why would a baby sheep want it? I thought that it wanted a friend or that maybe it was his. Maybe it was his cuddly toy. I took the baby sheep back to the farm animals. He will nice and cosy there. The baby sheep has lots of brothers and sisters and a mum and a dad. The farmer that looks after the animals was very proud of me and gave me a badge. It was very shiny. I also got to keep the golden owl as a prize!

THE FISHING GAME THAT CAME TO LIFE!
It was time to go home because it was school holidays for the children. They were so excited because they were going to their holiday home at the beach. By the time they got there it was night time and they had to unpack their bags, take their clothes off and put on their pyjamas. They sat on the couch to watch a movie on TV.
The next day they went to the beach. They collected pretty seashells, made amazing sandcastles and went swimming in the beautiful blue water. That night they decided to go to the fair that had come to town.
The fair was lit up with amazing lights! First they went on the Ferris Wheel. Then they saw a food cart and they wanted to eat some fairy floss. They went on some more rides including the bumper cars which they loved and then something caught their eye; a fishing game! They went over to play and the man explained the rules.
While he was explaining, the children heard something – it sounded like a little voice. They looked q down and saw that one of the fish in the game was talking! “How could this be happening?” they asked in disbelief! But they all heard him again when he said..”HELP!”
The man could not hear the fish, only the children could and they saw that it was a real fish stuck in the game with the toy fish. Instead of playing they were thinking about how they could rescue the fish from the water.
Then they remembered that they had their buckets and spades in the car from when they went to the beach that day so some of them ran to find their parents to get them from the boot while the others waited with the little fish so that he wouldn’t be scared.
When the kids came back they had to work out how to get him out without the man seeing in case he thought they were stealing from his game! So while some of the kids distracted the man by asking him about the prizes, the others rescued the fish. One of them had the idea to tip the water from their water bottle into the bucket while the other one used the spade to get him out and tipped him into the bucket, then they all ran off to put him back in the sea which was nearby.
The little fish was so happy and thanked them, he said his name was Floppy and that he had been scooped up accidentally. He swam off to find his friends and the children were cheering. They were heroes!
Each summer their new friend would be waiting in the sea to meet his rescuers and say hello when they swam, it was magical and no grown-ups could hear him, only the children.

Scarlett Frkic – Write-On Competition
Dear Audrina,
I had the best day at the Easter Show. Let me tell you all about it. I went on a big colourful slide, it was all the colours of the rainbow. I had to walk so high that I could almost touch the sky.
The slide had three big humps that looked like a camels back. I pushed from the top to start my ride on the big slide. I went really fast. I was laughing and smiling so much.
The wind was blowing my hair back and making my mouth dry. I won my race. I wanted to go on it so many times because it was super dooper fun but there was so much more to see and do.
Next we found the fishing game, I was a bit nervous because I didn’t know if I would catch any slippery fish. I picked up a blue fishing rod with a net at its tip. I held the rod with one hand and scooped a green and red fish.
I had to focus because the fish moved quick around the water. The green fish had the number 10. The red fish had the number 25. I had to use my maths skills to figure out the number. The number is 35 altogether. I won loom bands and I felt excited with my prize.
After the game, we saw a very long line that led into the farmyard. I pulled my mums hand so we can line up to go in. We waited so long we were so bored until we got to the front and we could see the animals.
I could see a Llama, rabbits, goats, sheep and so many more that I couldn’t even count them. The first thing we did was we got a cup of food to feed the animals. When I was holding the cup a white goat came up close and sneezed all over me, it was gross.
My favourite animal was the fluffy black chicken. Whenever I touched it, it would kneel down it was so cute and cuddly.
I was so hungry because I was walking around so much and having so much fun on the rides. As I was walking trying to find something to eat, we found a truck that was selling cheese toasties. It smelt delicious! My toastie was in the shape of a square. It was hot and the cheese was gooey and stretchy.
Now I wanted dessert, and we saw a flurrito. I was so excited to eat it. Let me tell you what it is. It is a burrito made from fairy floss, with ice cream, fruit loops and sprinkles wrapped inside. It tasted fantastic, and I wanted to eat all of it instead of sharing with my mum.
I had the best day, I wish you were there because it was so much fun.
From Scarlett.
P.S. I got a showbag for you – yay!
