Agriculture and The Farm!

It has been another busy few weeks around the farm!

Years 7 and 8 MT technology have harvested their veggies

Year 9 Agriculture have been to the south coast steer comp with their four steers and also compared and consumed their meat birds. St Greg’s homegrown were much larger and tastier!

Year 9 Agriculture have been as a part of their course have training and preparing 4 steers for the competition at South Coast. They then got the chance to see how their steers competed against 12 other schools. Amazingly all steers received ribbons for their class! We had 3 seconds and 1 fourth.

The second part of the Year 9 project was to write a report on the progression of their steers along with a market specifications and inputs and outputs. Two representatives then had to present the report to a panel of judges. Mitchell Sewell and Justin Susunjara did amazingly and got a bronze medal!

Our students also had the chance to compete in the junior judging and parading events with the following results being achieved:

  • Thomas Anderson – Overall Champion Junior Judge and Senior Champion Parader
  • Jayden Susunjara – Second senior junior judge and second senior parader
  • Vince Vaccaro – 3rd in the second heat of Intermediate parader
  • Vincent Pisciuneri – 2nd in the 3rd heat of Intermediate parader and 3rd in the final.
  • William Hackett -  1st in the 2nd heat of Intermediate parader and 2nd in the final.
