HSC Examinations
As we reach the end of the second week of HSC Examinations, students have completed more than 1600 individual exams. The final HSC exam for the College is Geography on November 8. We wish students every success in their remaining exams.
HSC Results will be available for students on Wednesday 18 December. Students will access their HSC results on NESA Students Online and their ATAR results from the UAC Website. In preparation for this, we advise all students to have their Student Number and their access codes stored so that they can find out their results and download their testamurs. Students can also indicate on the NESA Students Online whether they would like results to be sent to them via SMS.
On Wednesday 18 December, the College will also host our annual HSC Celebration Breakfast. This will be a time where our HSC students can come together at the College to share their results and debrief with fellow students and their Year 12 teachers. All Year 12 students are welcome at this event.
Year 11 Transition
While our Year 12 students finish the last two weeks of their HSC Exams, our Year 11 students are engaging in a number of activities that will prepare them to be our HSC students for 2025.
Over the last two weeks, students have been deliberating on which courses they will carry into the HSC. As part of this process, they have been discussing their options with their teachers and have submitted a course change form indicating the 10 or 11 units they would like to continue. As a result of this process, several new extension classes will be offered and students will move into their new classes and study groups when they return from the Retreat.
On Friday 1 November at 9.00am in the Gregorian Centre, our Year 11 students will celebrate their achievements in an Academic Assembly.
After their Year 12 Retreat in Week 4, there will be a Year 12 Information Evening. This event will be online and will begin at 6.30pm on Tuesday November 12. All Year 12 students will be expected to tune into this event.
College Reports
The College is reviewing its current Semester Reporting layout for Year 7 – 12. Over the next few weeks, there will be a parent survey that will allow you to have your say on what you would like to see in a new reporting layout.
Homework Club
We would encourage Year 7 – 11 students to attend Homework Club on Monday afternoons in the lead-up to exams. Homework Club is a chance for students to spend time studying, completing assessments and finishing homework in the inviting environment of the Marian Centre. There are subject and learning support teachers on hand to help students (a different faculty attends each week) and the afternoons are overseen by our Academic Care Leaders. The afternoons begin at 3.15pm and conclude at 4.30pm.
Homework Club will occur on the following Mondays:
Term 4
Week 3 (28.10)
Week 4 (04.11)
Week 5 (11.11)
Week 6 (18.11)
Week 7 (25.11)
HSC Minimum Standards Catch-up Session
Before the holidays, students in Year 10 – 12 had another chance to meet HSC Minimum Standards. While the vast majority of our students have now passed all three standards (Reading, Writing and Numeracy), there are several students who have yet to meet the standards. There will be another opportunity to complete the tests at the end of this term.
