Premier's Reading Challenge 2023 NOW CLOSED

The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) opened in March this year and has now closed. The PRC encourages students throughout NSW, enrolled in Kindergarten through to Year 9, to read either 30 (K-2) or 20 books (3-9) during the Challenge period. This is less than two picture books a week for K-2 students and less than one novel each week for students in Years 3-9.

The PRC closed on Friday, 18th August and we have again had an excellent number of students complete the Challenge - but it could be better!

College-wide we had 187 students complete the PRC.

Each year we entice classes to compete against each other for an Ice Cream Party (K-2) and a Pizza Party (3-6). The class with the most students completing the Challenge wins either one of these prizes.

This year, KM has again taken out the K-2 competition, with ALL of KM completing the Challenge a few weeks before the Challenge closed. Their Ice Cream Party celebration will take place in Term 4.

Unfortunately, not one class in years 3-6 completed the challenge but 5M were the class with the most finishers. Those 5M who completed the Challenge will also enjoy a Pizza party in Term 4.

Thank you to all of the parents who encourage their children to read for the PRC Challenge and assist them in adding their books to their records. It is greatly appreciated and recognises the importance of reading widely and regularly.
