In January, Patrick Bird (Year 10 Boarder - pictured second from right) competed in the Santa Gertrudis National Youth Camp in QLD. The camp attracted 102 young cattle enthusiasts, including 45 from NSW, for a four-day workshop at Morgan Park, Warwick.
Although it was not his first time competing, this was the first year Patrick was competing in the Opens division, meaning he was competing against all age groups. He placed 2nd in the Commercial Beef judging and he also won a 'Heartland Award', which is awarded to the recipient for commitment and work ethic during the camp.
This is a fantastic achievement and he is very proud of this result and so are we!
