Last term, Year 6 engaged with the IB’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition. In the Exhibition, students select a real-life issue, research information, and brainstorm ways that we can help to take action.
We inquired into Poverty and Homelessness. We learned that poverty is growing in our local area and as a result, more people are becoming homeless.
We had a phone call with Turning Point in Camden to learn about what they do to support this issue. We wanted to take action to help them through a fundraiser. When discussing this with our parents at home, we decided to organise a jar, and gave up our lunch times to collect donations. We also collected donations during our final Exhibition evening.
We raised just under 300 dollars in cash for this cause on our own and also set up a QR Code for guests to donate directly to Turning Point Camden where even more money was raised.
